Havat Marpe – Healing Space Rishpon is a pioneering response to the unprecedented trauma inflicted on Israel by the October 7th tragedy and subsequent war. Today, trauma is Israel’s most severe and costly public health problem.
Havat Marpe’s safe space provides routine and emergency healing for victims of direct and vicarious trauma on their journey to recovery.

Direct Victims – Founded in the immediate aftermath of October 7, Healing Space began by providing respite to survivors from the Nova festivals, and then for bereaved families, survivors’ parents, and young adults displaced from the Gaza Envelope.

Over the past months Healing Space has grown to encompass Responders and Caregivers – IDF soldiers including reservists, police officers and special units, medical teams, therapists, welfare workers, educators, and journalists.
All have encountered trauma survivors. 10%-20% will develop PTSD.

During routine times, regular mechanisms help responders and caregivers cope with vicarious trauma. Since October 7, Israel’s responders have been constantly absorbing shreds of trauma – in their professional and private lives.
Vicarious trauma registers and accumulates in their bodies. The body keeps score.

Healing Space developed an effective protocol for screening for trauma and is providing support and healing on a grand scale. Healing Space’s Trauma Scanner uses body therapies in a natural setting to flag those most at risk of PTSD.

Healing Space creates and implements one-of-a-kind integrative responses to collective trauma, employing professional clinicians and therapists. The center’s holistic approach to recovery integrates established therapies with the healing power of nature towards recovery, healing and resilience-building.
